The Pearl of Great Price: The Fairest Gem
Last week was the final lesson of the Doctrine & Covenants-Church History gospel doctrine study for 2009 in the Green Mountain 1st Ward. This Sunday, since there is no set lesson in the teacher’s manual, we will prepare for next year’s Old Testament course of study . Eight of the first ten lessons include passages and insights from the Book of Moses and the Book of Abraham in the Pearl of Great Price. The origins of these sacred writings are the focus of this review.
Elder Mark E. Petersen, member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, testified that the Pearl of Great Price “contains some of the greatest revelations of God to man” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1952, 107).
