OVERVIEW:
Two years after Abinadi had delivered his initial call to repentance before the people of King Noah, he returned in disguise to deliver anew the declaration that God’s judgments would be poured out upon this rebellious generation. Quoting many familiar writings from his predecessor prophets, Abinadi tries, and convicts, his detractors in the court of God’s justice. They are incapable of countering his irrefutable evidence of their wickedness in wantonly violating the Ten Commandments. His extraordinary pronouncements about the Atonement and the redeeming mission of the Savior constitute another beautiful witness of Christ’s divinity. Like Nephi and Jacob before him, he offers commentary on Isaiah that clarifies many of the cited passages, and makes them more vibrantly instructive. Without fear for his life, Abinadi brings King Noah and his priests face to face with the unassailable truth that Christ is the author of their salvation.
